The de Broglie Wave Equation
The de Broglie equation relates the wavelength of a particle to its velocity and mass. It is particularly important in understanding the properties of subatomic particles. This page will present you with a variety of questions demonstrating the application of the de Broglie relationship. When you press "New Problem" a question will appear in the top frame. Determine the value of the answer, enter it in the cell and press "Check Answer". Results will appear in the main frame. All wavelengths must be in meters. You will need to have available the mass of the subatomic particles (in kg) as will as the speed of light in m/sec.
- If you miss a problem three times, pressing the "Show Answer" button will cause the correct answer to appear.
