Linear Equations in Two Unknowns-Integers
This math review page deals with linear equations with two unknowns in which all of the terms are integers.
Its operation is simple. Press "New Problem" and a linear equation and a question will
appear in the top frame. Determine the value of the answer and enter it in the cell. Press
"Check Answer" and the results will appear in the second table.
Hints
- Although all of the terms in the source equations are integers, the question and
your answer will likely be a real number.
- Be careful about the signs of the answer
- You must enter your answer as a decimal number. Thus, you must enter .125, not 1/8
- Your answer must have 1% agreement with the correct answer, so you should
enter it to 3 significant figures.
